Have you ever wondered — Am I following my spiritual path? Am I learning the life lessons I came for? Am I unknowingly making the wrong choices in life?

Whether we have just started actively pursuing our spiritual path or have been on it for lifetimes, these are questions that everyone asks them self from time to time.
It’s easy to believe that we have missed the boat when, in retrospect, we can look back and see that had we made different choices we would be in an improved position now.
Perhaps we wish that we had done better back in high school, chosen a different career, invested more money, bought a smaller/bigger house, been more generous, and on and on.
No Mistakes in Life
These are examples of perspectives gained after-the-fact. It is always true that if we knew then what we know now, we wouldn’t have needed to go through those experiences in the first place.
With that said, by virtue of recognizing now that there were better paths available to us then, means we are indeed learning and doing those things we came to do and learn.
Even better, it also means that those insights gained from earlier life events will help accelerate the present learning we have before us.
They allow us to see in the NOW what we would have missed before. We can and will make better and wiser choices moving forward.
We Are On Track
With all of this in mind, whether it looks like it or not, we are on track!
You might wonder, if that is the case, why doesn’t it feel like it?
We Naturally Flow to our Learning
The reality is that we naturally (automatically) put our self in situations that bring about the learning our inner being seeks, including those key lessons that are essential in order to move forward in our life.
As chaotic as it may seem from time to time, we intuitively magnetize situations to ourselves that will illuminate the “next” thing we need to learn, which can lead to inexplicable events in our life.
That is, some of the situations that come about in our life can appear to be quite innocent, weird, or even accidental.
But they are not.
My rule of thumb is that the more inadvertent, arbitrary, even ridiculous, a life event appears, the more pivotal and deliberate it actually is. Let me explain.
Life Plan
Before we come to earth, each of us develops a detailed life plan with the assistance of our guides, High Self, angels (devas) and beings who make up our higher guidance. For some, that includes direct input from the Divine (God).
As mentioned in Intuitive Readings from Our Guides’ Point of View, our Life Plan is mind-bogglingly detailed. It would practically require a supercomputer to map it out and decipher here on earth.
But it is easy reading for our soul, High Self and guides.
Every possible event, including each person, place, or thing we could conceivably encounter in our life is part of our Life Plan. It includes both inner choices only we know about and the external ones that create the storyline of our outer life.
Each Life Plan includes a range of higher choices to lesser alternatives. However, no matter what, all options within our Life Plan move us forward in our learning and growing.
Life Plans Intersect
Of course, the events of our Life Plan seamlessly dovetail with intersecting events of other people that we know and meet. It allows us to serve the role of being the teacher for them, and vice versa.
We also become the mirror for others, and they for us. That is, we can see characteristics in others that we need to work on within our self. Others do the same thing when they see us.
Foes are Friends in Disguise
Those who appear to be our foes and adversaries are really kindred spiritual souls who volunteered to play their role to help us on our spiritual journey toward illumination and enlightenment. They merely came in disguise so that we could learn from the situation.
A Little or A Lot – Our Choice
Without going into a lot of detail, our Life Plan allows us to do anything from a little to a lot in each area of learning we have in our life.
Unknown to our conscious mind, there are usually several different opportunities to learn each of our life lessons, should we miss catching something the first time. Each “next” learning opportunity is usually adjusted, focused and scaled to help us see it better.
Life Plan Centered Around Learning, Not Specific Events
With that said, most people’s Life plans are centered around the actual learning (lessons) they seek and not (absolute) specific events. That is, we can choose to learn a life lesson this way or that way. We can gain insights from this person, situation, or happening or through other people, circumstances and occurrences.
How we choose to learn a particular lesson or lessons often depends on how things unfold as we go along. Our Life Plan is a dynamic instrument.
Ordained, or Not Ordained?
It is not to say that there are not events that are ordained. There are – kind of.
What looks like an ordained event is really where the cumulative learning requirements of our individual life, or that of a large number of people, all intersect to such a degree that a particular event is all but certain. But not absolute.
In our own life, we may have a point of convergent learning where a particular event is the best option to learn multiple facets of a life lesson, or multiple life lessons, all at once. These events also tend to be memorable.
Or, a large number of souls all have similar learning that can be taught through a single shared event, or series of events. This has to do with lessons of soul groups, small to large.
Soul Groups
Most people belong to multiple soul groups, each having different focuses and characteristics. (See Spirit Attributes, Soul Aspects and Groups, and Soulmates, Pt III.)
One example is that many people on earth today were part of the soul group that was part of Atlantis’ collapse. Part of their life mission this time is to help humankind and the earth shift upward to their higher vibrational state.
That is why large groups of people, even nations, share in key events, both those seen as fortuitous and unfortunate. The lessons learned through mutual/communal experiences have the added quality of sometimes being viewed as more real, intense and valid, since a multitude simultaneously shared in the happening.
Life Plans are Exquisite
The life plans of some people have been shown to me while in deep meditation. They are always seen as brightly illuminated and spiritually beautiful creations. They are stunning to see!
Even someone’s life that is seen as being mundane at the earthly plane – is a divinely inspired life plan that helps a person grow in ways only the Divine (God) and those with spiritual vision can see.
We are Where We’re Supposed to Be
To bring it all together, if you are wondering if you are on track, the answer is, YES!
The events of each of our lives are the result of a natural unfoldment that reflected our state of development at the time. Each life event, intentional or “accidental”, unfurls like flowing water that finds its way to a stream, then a river and finally to the ocean – our final ocean being our soul’s return to Source.
“Not as Planned” is Normal
The fact that things didn’t happen the way we intended is not only okay, it is normal!
If honest, almost everyone who has strove and achieved in life will acknowledge that things didn’t turn out as originally intended. In fact, some of the most successful people in the world have had numerous (big) setbacks before getting to their desired goal in life, whether personal or professional.
In short, each point in our life, whether they are considered to be superb high points or unfortunate happenings, were there so we could learn the lessons we sought and needed for this lifetime. They each happened (unfolded) in a manner that reflected our state of development at the time, which has given us the gift of powerful insights in the present!
More importantly, these wondrous insights gained through our learning provide opportunities for us to follow the higher pathways of our Life Plan – starting NOW.
Soul’s High Path
Joseph Campbell, the man who inspired George Lucas to create Star Wars, said there is a unique path for each of us that is ours, and ours alone. He called it the “Souls High Adventure.” We call it the Soul’s High Path.
Every Life Plan that the Universe or Divine has shown me always includes higher pathways and byways for that person. (As mentioned before, they are all illuminated and divinely inspired!)
Often, an individual may not be on their higher path at the time I was shown their life plan. But make no mistake, it is there — ready, waiting and always available. All we have to do is to be aware that our higher guidance is shouting to us to discover what it is for each of us!
Just set your intention to find it, and then follow it!
