Music is My Life
Music has always been a part of my life. I started out playing the recorder in grade school and then played the flute from 3rd grade through high school. As a child I would spend hours singing the same song over and over again. As an adult I sang in the church choir and played the hand bells, recorder and flute.
My spiritual journey started when I realized that I was searching for more in my life and that I wanted to make a change. I had the opportunity to take a spiritual course that was part of the Illuminated Mind Seminars. After I completed the series of seminars my life changed forever.
Later, I went to a follow on spiritual retreat where I was gifted a Native American flute. I had the flute for many years and never learned how to play it. I grew up with the notion that you had to learn the fingering and notes and play using sheet music. So, I never played the flute.
Songs Unfold in the Moment
David, my husband, and I were guided to start teaching the Illuminated Mind Seminars in 2013. That’s when it came to me that I didn’t need to learn how to play the Native American flute, I just need to allow the music to flow through me. This was a big step for me, but I knew that, I was supposed to do it. I was guided to just trust in the Divine (God) and allow the music to unfold in the moment.
Connection to the Divine Through Music
As I have grown in my spiritual journey I realized that music is one of my connections to the Divine. When I am listening to or playing music I am centered in the moment and I become so enveloped by the music that nothing else matters. I become blissful and so happy that I lose myself in the music.
Language of the Soul
Those are the times when I feel like I am the music. There are no words to describe how I feel or what I am experiencing. All I know is that I am no longer me, but the music. That’s when I feel the connection to the Divine in that blissful moment. I know that all is in perfect, Divine order, and that I am one with the Universe. For me music is the language of the soul.
There are many different ways to connect to the Divine. Music is one of the ways I connect and become one with the Divine. Others find their connection in nature, meditation, or helping others.
Find Your Connection
We all have our own unique connection to the Divine and experience IT in a different way. Just like there are many paths to the Divine, there are many connections. We all need to find the path and connection that is for us.
When we find that connection and oneness with the Divine, our lives become blissful, joyful and we are at complete peace with all of life. One of the ways we can find that connection to the Divine is to do what brings us joy and happiness.
