What is emotional baggage and how does it affect us? 

It can be viewed psychologically, spiritually, energetically, even medically by how it influences our physiology – just to list a few.

Energetic Attachments

I see emotional baggage as energetic attachments having structure, awareness and their own volition of sorts.  If large enough, or clustered with other like-energetic attachments, together they can appear and act almost as a consciousness that in some ways resembles an entity.

Affects Our Life

Emotional baggage can and does influence our level of happiness.  It often interferes with our ability to properly engage in certain activities.  It keeps us locked in self-defeating behaviors, negative attitudes and restrictive mental patterns.  It can even adversely affect our health.

How Is Emotional Baggage Created?

To better discuss why emotional baggage, or energetic attachments, are created, we’ll begin at the period before we came to earth.

The Etheric Realm

When we were back in the etheric realm, sometimes thought of as heaven, we were operating from our higher nature in a more perfect connection with the Divine (God) and greater Creation.

We could see things clearly there.  No sooner did we ask a question than we were connected with the answer.  Everything was obvious.

All the linkages to the reasons behind each of the events of our many lifetimes were clearly visible.  We also saw and understood the intricacies of our upcoming earthly life.  It all made sense.

We Are a Spectrum Being

Now, our being encompasses a frequency spectrum from low to high.  Because of that, some of the lessons we have to learn are best taught in a lower frequency environment, such as earth.  Earth better matches the vibrations of our needed learning.

The Veil Was Drawn, Our Perceptions Dimmed

Knowing this, we chose to come into this life to be born as a human.  The veil was drawn and our instant connection to the vast knowledge and wisdom of our higher nature was inhibited by the heavier vibrations of the material world.

The Low Self and First Three Chakras

Although each lifetime brings us ever closer to living in union with our higher nature (High Self), the vast majority of those on earth operate from a limited sense of identity, with a faint connection to their Divine guidance.

They unknowingly operate from their lower nature, the Low Self, their first three chakras and the energetic bodies associated with them (i.e., layers of our aura).

These first three chakras embody the frequency spectrum of animal kingdom energies and the world of karma.  The lower energies of anger, sorrow, jealousy, and so on, can exist and operate there. 

Blind Spots

With that said, each of us does the best that we can with our current level of spiritual development.  However, we are left with blind spots of understanding, which can lead us to see incomplete pictures and draw faulty conclusions during the ongoing events of our life.

Emotional Baggage is Born

As we live life, our perceptual blind spots are always present.  Our interaction with others, sometimes within our self, are also filtered through the animal-level energy perceptions of our first three chakras. 

In any situation, our perceptual blind spots are simultaneously intertwined with these lower chakra energies, which can skew our perceptions of what is really happening and what is actually factual or correct.  Because of this, we can develop untrue beliefs, imperfect systems of thought, flawed insights, imaginary enemies, etc., all based on invalid information obtained through our limited perceptions and incomplete understanding.

When this happens, we non-consciously use the creative power of our being, the constructs of our minds and the animal energies of that moment, to create an autonomous energy system known as emotional baggage, or energetic attachments.

Computers and Emotional Baggage

More specifically, our emotional baggage arose through a combination of our conscious awareness (identity), structures of our mind (form) and the animal-energy drives of volition (purpose of will).

Together, identity, form and volition (purpose) essentially created little encapsulations of what acts like energetic software within our being.

In fact, computer hardware and software operate similarly as the energies of our being interact internally within ourselves, with other people, and even inanimate objects.  This energetic baggage, i.e., energetic software, will remain attached to the lower octaves of our being until they are released.

Because this newly-created emotional baggage, aka energetic software, now resonates with the energies of the lower three chakras, many of our perceptions will be naturally filtered through these attachments.

The Snowball Begins…

If we are not aware of what just happened, we will continue to filter our perceptions through the lower three chakras and our (new) emotional baggage.

This almost always ends up in creating more energetic attachments that can and do become linked to one another.  The more emotional baggage we accumulate, the more it acts like additional filters (and software) that exaggerate our perceptual blind spots and intensify our lesser modes of thinking.

Closing Thoughts

Once we know about the nature of emotional baggage, we are then able to see or perceive those energetic attachments within our self.  We can intuitively sense and feel them inside our being’s energy field.

Unlike in the past, when new challenging situations arise, we can begin to catch our self before we fall into the lesser patterns that create emotional baggage in the first place.

Those who are even a little spiritually and energetically attuned, can have a real advantage.  They can learn about their own hidden attributes by observing the energetic interactions within their own being.

It’s like suddenly becoming aware of the color blue in a world of people that can’t see that hue.  Once we see it, its signature color can be seen wherever it exists.  The same is true as we become increasingly aware of our own emotional baggage.
